Welcome to Rossdale
On a beautiful sunny day in February at Rossdale I was down at the short practice area having a chip around. On the way back I noticed a tall young lady standing on the third tee. She was accompanied by another lady but there was only one set of golf clubs in sight. The aforementioned proceeded to flush a short iron onto the green which zipped back ten feet on the first bounce to nestle two feet from the pin. This naturally piqued my interest and I decided to watch her tee off on the fourth. After she drilled her driver miles down the fairway like tracer I said to her “you’ve played before” to which she simply replied “thank you”. “Are you a member” I threw out there – knowing fine well she wasn’t. “No, just a visitor” she replied in a soft stilted European accent.
The lady accompanying her (and it then dawned on me she was her caddy) expanded on the former’s modesty by explaining she was a professional and was visiting Australia for the Victorian Open where she unfortunately just missed the cut.
Upon returning to the clubhouse I met fellow board member Cheryl Disher and recounted the above. Cheryl met up with the young lady on completion of her round and promptly signed her up as an honorary member.
So I think Nina Pegova (aged 26) from Russia becomes our first lady professional ( apologies in advance if I’m wrong)) and one to look out for flying the Rossie flag on the big tours.

Carol is back!
Taking the top story in our Enews this week is the return of Carol because who doesn’t miss her laugh??
Carol has not stopped moving since the moment she stepped back into the building. No Honour Board, glass or dance floor has been safe from her cleaning capabilities.

Getting up to date
We are very lucky to have two of our bar staff return to Rossdale and begin updating our files.
Mikayla and Brooke have begun sorting all of our hard copy files and moving them to the cloud! Although it is a long process, these girls are happy to work through it to bring our admin team into a more efficient work place.

Proshop takes to course
Ben isn’t the only proshop staff that has re-joined the team and making massive improvements to the course!
Peter Henderson can be seen doing anything from polishing the deck to cleaning up fallen trees on the course.
