John & Lois Vanselow Mixed Foursomes Championship
On what was a perfect Sunday we saw one of our largest mixed foursomes fields to date.
31 pairs took part in the golf and then enjoyed a Gourmet BBQ on the deck with live music, the number of people attending really shows how healthy the Rossdale culture is!
Coming out on top and winning the Championship was the pair of Cheryl Disher and Sam Cormack with a round of 80.

The Women’s 2023 Foursomes Championship has been played over the last two Wednesdays.
Opening up last week in round 1 with an 86 and a 1 shot lead was the pair of Karen Schmidt and Cathie Maggio. Close behind them was the pair of Cheryl Disher and Francesca Cheon.
Yesterdays second and final round was played on a lovely Springs day. Karen and Cathie struggled to combine on the greens to finish with a 91 which opened the door for Cheryl and Francesca. They ended up shooting an 88 to be two shots clear and our 2023 Champions.
Last years Champion’s Gina Thorne and Gaye Sinclair posted the best score on the day with an 86 but fell just short a few shots further back.
Our 2023 Nett winners held the lead after round 1 with a great 68 and then backed it up yesterday with a 74 to win the Nett event by 3 shots. Congratulations to Karen Rahilly and Bernadette Terrell

In recent weeks we have been seeing an increase of slow rounds, this is getting in excess over 4 hour 30 minutes rounds of golf, which to many, is unacceptable.
You are expected to complete a round of golf in 4 hour and 10 minutes.

Ways we can improve round times
- Keep up with the group in front and never let them get more than half a fairway in front.
- Score your Mi-score App after you have teed off.
- Walk swiftly between shots, when safe to do so, walk to your own ball and start get ready to take your shot.
- 3 minutes is the maximum amount of time you can look for a ball, this starts the moment you start looking for it.
- When two people have finished putting, head to the next tee and tee off.

Corporate Cup 2023
Rossdale Corporate Cup is fast approaching, Scheduled for Friday the 17th of November. Great time to start preparing and getting that winning team ready. Rossdale Corporate Cup is going to be a very exciting day, from a pop up bar and souvlakis plenty of great prizes Entry Forms are available in the Pro Shop.

Friday Night Twilight
Join us next Friday night for the start of the Twilight season.
Enjoy Friday evenings filled with 9 holes and a lot of fun, great nightly prizes to be won and once again the player with the best 10 rounds over the twilight season will win $1000 off their membership, $500 on your house account for 2nd and a new Odyssey putter for 3rd.

Brereton Crowned as 2023 Quick 6 Champion
|
|
|
On what was a fine and perfect Friday afternoon on September 15th, we had the finale of the 2023 edition of the Quick 6. It was a tight one heading into the final round as 3 shots separated between Leader Glenn Brereton and 2nd place Tricia Stillman. Ultimately it proved to be the cushion needed as Glenn matched Tricia’s score of 15 in the final round sealing victory and the 2nd Quick 6 Champion ever since its inception.
Ross Petrie took out the Victory in the final round shooting an impressive 13 and finishing 3rd overall, a strong and superb effort!
Well done to Tricia for her valiant effort as she was the leader for 6 out of the 9 rounds, we hope to see her challenge again for the title in 2024!
Congratulations to Glenn on your victory. Enjoy it, and we look forward to seeing you defend your title in 2024!

Interplast Charity Golf Day
Interplast Charity Golf Day is coming up on Friday the 13th of October. The entry for members will be $80 or $120 for non members. Not only will you enjoy a fantastic day, you’ll be contributing to a great cause.

25th, 40th & 50th Anniversary Recognition Luncheon
|
|
|
Sunday October 15th is closing in, as we celebrate our members who this year reach 25, 40 & 50 years of membership with us at Rossdale Golf Club. The event format includes an optional 9-hole team event, tee off will be from 8.30am. Following golf a two course lunch.
A number of members on the day will appear as guest speakers and share their experiences of being a member at Rossdale which promises to be a fun filled afternoon.

Andrew will be offering a range of clinics at Rossdale Golf Club as well as individual lessons. He will be offering the following clinics on a weekly basis that are opened to all members to attend.

Thursday- Coffee Club- 9.30am
Friday- Bunker Clinics- 9.30am
Saturday- Women’s Beginner Program (4 week program)- 9.30am
