Women’s Pennant Sunday 25th Feb 

Morning Course Closure

On Sunday the 25th of February we will be hosting Division 3 Women’s Pennant. Our Women’s team will be taking on Latrobe at 8:00am This will mean that the course will be closed till 2:30pm and members will have access to the course after this time.

Due to this morning closure 6 day members will have access to play on Saturday 24th February. The timesheet will be available for booking for 6 day members from Friday the 23rd of February.

if you wish to play on the Saturday please call the Pro-Shop at 9580 1008 and one of our staff members will be able to assist you. 

Pennant Fundraising Day

On Sunday the 11th of February we held our annual Pennant Fundraising Day.

With a 12:30pm shotgun start and high temperatures predicted in the afternoon we still saw a good field size of 80 players participate in the day.

The scoring on the day was as hot as the temperatures with the group of Russel Fox, Rob Moore, Jeff Farr and Shane Holloway narrowly beating the team of Mark Findlay, Darren Chandler, Scott Kidman and Peter Clarke by 0.10 with a great score of 54.75.

After the round everyone enjoyed a delicious Summer BBQ,  we saw some of our remaining youth players auctioned off.

Big news which we were able to announce on the day was our continual relationship with Barry Plant Real-estate and their increase sponsorship to $10,000.

This funding will help develop our juniors and female golfers from a grass roots level, give Rossdale the ability to help fund our players in participating in State and National Events and also help deliver consistent coaching programs to ensure Rossdale continues to be a major player in Pennant Competitions.

We encourage our members who maybe looking to buy or sell their home to contact the team at Barry Plant and mention that you are a member of Rossdale Golf Club.

All player sponsors will be made to feel apart of the team. Decked out in a uniform, invited to play with their Pennant Player on Captains Day, Name will be displayed on the deck and you will also invited to attend the Pennant end of season thank you BBQ.

John Anderson Mid Week Championship Round 2

Round 2 was scheduled to be played on Tuesday the 13th of February it hot and windy Summer conditions. 150 players were scheduled to tee it up on the day but with temperatures reaching 36 degrees many took comfort in the air conditioning of their own homes.

About 20 players braved the hot conditions, however the late storm rolled through and put an end to their rounds.

Due to the field not being able to complete their round on Tuesday the 2nd round of the John Anderson Mid Week Championship has been canceled and the leading 4 players from round 1 will move into the Semi Finals of the Match Play. The Match Play draw can be seen below, players wil be teeing off next Tuesday the 20th at 12:04pm.

Men’s and Womens Club Championship

The A Grade Club Championships will be played over 36 holes and all other grades will be played over 18 holes this Saturday. All tee times are listed below, it would be great see members out supporting and celebrating fellow Members achievements. After presentations complementary cocktail food will be supplied as well as live music from 6:00pm.

Scramble Sunday the 18th of February

Spots are still open for the Scramble this Sunday, play in the morning or afternoon and register through the Pro Shop.

If you have never played in the Scramble before it is a great event. You choose your team of 4 players and then play an elimination Ambrose, the cost is $50 per person and this covers your entry fee, lunch and you also receive 6 Callaway  golf balls.

The winner of the Rossdale event will then move on to the State Final where they will play for a spot in the National Final up in Queensland.

Last year the team of Suzanne Ferguson, Jo Baron, Val Sims and Marguerite Crompton were lucky enough to win the State Final with our Director of Golf Michael Moore and then enjoyed a great week up on the Golf Coast at Sanctuary Cove Resort.
